Our thanks to the Samford Community Bendigo Bank

Samford Artworks is a collection of like-minded people who get together to paint in all mediums mentored by professional established tutors.  This group started in 2007 due to the expense and distance for the local community to achieve a similar type of tuition outside of Samford.

Funding the workshops became a stumbling block and upon hearing about the support and help the Bendigo Bank gives to the community we applied for and were successful in receiving our first grant in 2012.  This grant enabled us to set up a website and subsidise some of the more expensive workshops.  This supported the development of our members’ skills and we held our first exhibition in 2013.  This exhibition was a huge success and with the entrance fee of a gold coin donation we were able to make a considerable donation to the Samford First Responders.  We were very proud to give back to the community and we could not have achieved this without the help of the Samford Community Bendigo Bank.

Having gained confidence from the first exhibition we held another successful exhibition in 2015 and again we were able to make a considerable donation to the Samford Lions Club Medical Research Fund.

This year we were successful in receiving our second grant from the Samford Community Bendigo Bank and this will enable us to progress to two-day workshops so that our members may receive more in-depth tuition.  This may lead to another exhibition in 2016.

With the support of the Samford Community Bendigo Bank, Samford Artworks has been able to help local artists to achieve their goals and at the same time we have been able to give back to the Community.

Our sincere thanks to the Samford Community Bendigo Bank for the support they give to Samford Artworks and the local community.
